At risk of sounding a luddite, and as someone who only occasionally pops on the forum I miss the 25 most recent posts button. Or perhaps it's there but I can't find it?
I do like the look of it though!

I am not sure but right now I do not like it, from green to blue, no blue is a very cold colour not warm or inviting. I miss my post at the top of the page, you could see if a member posted an answer and by clicking on your post going straight to the post I thought that was a great idea, or like Peter am I missing something, sometimes I think it is change just for the sake of it. But then I could get used to it, I hope.

Norvin Top right hand side you will find a button titled 'Participated' - just under the Log Out title. Click on this to view your posts. If it has a box to the left with 'NEW' then you know there have been replies. As for colour, we can change this to our own taste and this will be done in due course. This site has all the options available on the old format, though I admit it may take a while to find them It should be much quicker to load than the old format, easier to view on tablets and phones and answer the problem many have experssed previously regarding the 'SEARCH' facility.

No worries Norvin. It's a bit of a learning curve for us all. I have added a 'New Topics' (as you had on the previous version) link at the top as well, next to 'Home'

I think this new site is rubbish, example in the latest post section, when opened it makes no mention wher the newest post was made. Very difficult to navigate around the site. And where is the spell check? Wheres' the "preview post" Bring back the old site , much better.[/font] And why are the avatars so large? they take up nearly one third of the page.

Well, for my part as Norvin said,it's the blue cold colour which disturb me the most. The "old" site was better on that point Another thing that make this new site cold is the strange "Alien egg head" of the member without avatar picture.Talking about avatars, there is no more the mention of the location of the member, I liked it so,the remarks are essentialy cosmetic but it helps to feel good

I'm using pro boards ipad app as this is where I check in most nights when things are quiet. Bits far faster and seems more stable so far. I'm happy!

I think it looks pretty good. The only suggestion I would make is to show how many personal messages I have and if I have any new messages when I sign on. That was a nice feature of the old format. Otherwise, I have to go look at my messages to see if there are any new ones.
Thanks,
David

Hi David
You will get what I can only describe as a small speech bubble appear next to 'Messages' at the top of the page, telling you the number of messages you have received. I will send you a test PM.
The site still needs some fine tuning and I know there are some who prefer the old layout, but the advantages on the new format far out way the disadvantages. Bear with me everyone and we should get there. I am off to bed now as its approaching 1am.

I was about to comment that the facility to step forward or back a page in a thread has disappeared from the bottom of the thread, but then I noticed that the buttons for that purpose at the top of the page remain at the top of the screen when you scroll down the page.
David, is it possible to put a "Home" button beside those buttons so it's easier to get back to the home page from the bottom of a very long thread?
At last; Search will accept words of less than 4 letters so it's now possible to search for things like LPG, gas, or AED.
I also notice that the little Drop-down box beside the cog symbol at the right-hand side of each post has the option (under Member) to send a member a gift. If anyone is feeling so inclined, I'd like a set of NOS rear springs please. PM me for the delivery details.

There is no spell check There is no way I can tell where the post came from when looking at 'recent posts' There is no 'preview post' I don't use the search facility so there is no improvement I can see This seems to me to be a retrograde step , why a change for the worst?

Could ADMIN answer these points please? David is NOT responsible for the changeover it is Proboards give the man a chance and "Please"!!!! he is given the package and has to alter it to our needs/likes in his own time without payment and he is "self employed". I can appreciate questions and requests to David but not Criticism directed at him l think the site is much quicker lots of improvements it's different to use yes but not a problem like any software you have to find your way around it GIVE IT TIME to evolve

Just to keep you all aware: Colour: Changed from Blue to Bordeaux Font: Increased slightly for easier reading. Avatars: Decreased in size. Proboards default avatars are fixed. You can add your own (size is 75 x 75 pixels). I have now changed the default avatar to a club grille badge. Proboards will not be including a spell check. They expect you to use the one in your browser. support.proboards.com/thread/432018/add-spell-checkerMahatmacoat asked: There is no way I can tell where the post came from when looking at 'new topics'When you click on the message you are reading, you will see the section listed under the picture, below 'Home, 'New Topics' etc.
