I don't really have much to say really. The new board seems ok but the old board suited me and I do miss the section where the last 25 posts could be read. I did raise a question the other day and apart from a silly response from Roy, I don't know if I actually got an answer!
Why did the old board need changing anyway?

I do not know the answer to 25 posts qustion but the Search is now great - this Mk3? version a more up to date version generally but not the great leap forward the move was to this one in 2005 and all the comment that caused

The search facility on this forum is excellent. The other site(regarding search) was inept and I found it most frustrating to use.

I hope this response is in the 'right 'place.
A few things I miss or find difficult.
* I miss the recent posts at the top of the home page. Scrolling down to the bottom and then clicking onto the link for recent stuff or updates to threads seems awkward to me.
* I miss the new posts being in bold.
* Although the new board operates smoothly the colour choice (to my eye) seems a bit bland.
Pluses:
Login is easier
Posting Pix & URLs is easier.

Enigmas
RECENT POSTS: See top of the home page under the forum banner. You can also choice Recent Threads
COLOUR: Hmmm that's a difficult one. What may be pleasing to one may not to another. Neutral colours are middle ground.

David
I know this is a trivial thing and I don't know if it's something you can change, or if it annoys others like it does me; but is it possible to turn off all the unnecessary animation? Whenever you hover the cursor over a topic, button or heading, and before clicking on it, the font jumps around from italics to standard; buttons change colour from green to red and resize slightly causing that part of the page to jump; and so on.
I feel like I'm coming down with a case of distemper.

Warwick, the same thing happens to me,try to click and it stutters from italic to standard and it will not click,UNLESS (ive just found),the finger cursor is actually precisely on the text, instead of lasily in that area... Is it a browser version issue? I do get alot.(but maybe this is due to maintainence) a message about a bear has broken into Proboards, and tore the place up...

It was a Proboards upgrade Richard so David has done a great job our forum is one of many that have/will go through the same teething problems Recent Posts is just as good well it does for me. That was a strange one David Richards Post came up as the latest I didn't notice the date! the date is the 9th so I replied but on refresh it wasn't there so it proves maybe things are still going on at Proboards it must have been/is a huge task for them.

I'm fine with it now but I've just had to repost this after losing my original post after using visual to preview it and try to alter a spelling mistake. How do you return to the narrative to correct a mistake? Uploading images is much easier and overall, I'm happy with the new look.

You should be able to amend you copy in either Visual or BBCode. Just done a quick test and it seems to be working alright here.

Thanks David. That's fixed it for me too. Much appreciated.
I'm using Firefox. On an unrelated issue, has anyone using Firefox noticed a problem with drop-down menus becoming invisible? It started a month or 2 ago, after a routine update (of course). Any drop-down menu, whether it was the browser History or Bookmarks menu or a menu on a website, was invisible unless the cursor was moving over it. As soon as movement stopped it disappeared so you had to click where you thought it was. After a subsequent update a few weeks ago, it improved and now only occurs on some menus on some websites, but not on the browser menus. It makes browsing very difficult.

Crossplies asked: I'm fine with it now but I've just had to repost this after losing my original post after using visual to preview it and try to alter a spelling mistake. How do you return to the narrative to correct a mistake. This may help. Go to your Profile. Select Edit Profile. Select Settings and you have the following option: Enable Drafts Saves your posts periodically during creation. Yes / No
Warwick. Sorry but no I don't have the same problem - I also use Firefox.

Sorry to be a pain, but I dont seem to be able to be Logged in forever now.
I have only today had time to look at the Forum very recently and found this new version - I had problems loging in for starters but eventually got it sorted. There used to be a box that you clicked on your Profile or something (forgotten where ) and I havent changed anything since I just googled rover p5 club - clicked and straight in last on the old one but not now.
I am obviously logged in now but if I click the X top right or back up Google ( not log out) If I google rover p5 again where it used to greet stoneRover it now is Guest everytime.
Also the page widths seem to be all over the place, some fit the screen and others like this Thread are 2 inches too wide and have to keep scrolling side to side on every line. Have to alter the 100% to 75% on different screens.
Thanks for any advice.
At the bottom it says the thread in which you are posting has no effects applied to it - what is this on about please ?
How do I add my location which was there before. Have got this bit sorted now.

Hi Anne
When you log on you should see an option 'Remember Me' under your user name to stay logged in.
The forum is 1000 pixels wide so should fit most screens. If it helps you can press CTRL and -(minus) keys together to get your screen to reduce. CTRL and 0 will set you back to default.
The location option supplied by Proboards seems not to work, but I have inserted a working version in our Profile - go to bottom of your profile for Location. The effects text relates to coding and BBcode - just ignore it.
HTH
David

Hi David
All sorted now, thanks for your help - the ctrl minus takes it too small 75% but if I use Mouse Wheel and ctrl I can get it 85 - 90% which is spot on.
Thanks again David.
