This years South East Rover Rally will take place on SATURDAY 6th July at Petworth House. Hopefully, by now, every one will have received their entry forms. Just a few requests; Please do not forget to enclose a STAMPED ADDRESSED ENVELOPE for your entry ticket, preferably 11 cm X 22cm (A4 ?) and if it is possible to send it in a slightly larger envelope to avoid folding it up that would be appreciated. Do not use one too large as that would need a 'large' stamp !
Please do not use staples or paper clips - the cheque will not get lost in my kitchen.
Cheques for £3 should be made payable to The Rover P5 Club
Look forward to seeing everyone there

Petworth is nice & the house is well worth a look round, but a small warning. At the P6 national there last year we got there around 11am in our P5B to find entry to the show area blocked. The member of staff I spoke to said the manager had stopped any more cars going in just in case anyone walking was injured by a vehicle on the track up to the house. He agreed that it was pretty ridiculous but there was nothing to be done about it, so we had to leave the car in the car park. We weren't the only old Rover banished from the show that day despite having booked a place. I was pretty annoyed about it to say the least. On the plus side, the house calmed me down & we found that exit from the show area was also blocked until a given time & as we wanted to leave before this we were able to, as we weren't in there in the first place. So get there early & plan to leave late.

If it comes to it, George and I will shepherd the cars up the road with a red flag! We will do our best to avoid such a thing happening at our rally...

A good idea. I don't think the organisers had any idea about the decision before I pointed it out to them. Admittedly most of the cars were already in the display area but I've never been refused entry to one before, whatever the time. It may be that it is directly outside the house but then again so is Bowood as I recall. You may wish to enquire about the entry situation beforehand.

I notice from the classic Rover forum that the rally is in the park, so I assume you wouldn't face the same restrictions on access as the show last year, which was in front of the house itself.

That is something that we will have to investigate. We are part of the event and I would imagine that there will be restrictions on movement of vehicles once it is open to the public.

Ray does not think that there will be any problems, the fete in the park runs from 11am to 5pm and entrance to the rally will be from the A272. Hopefully every one coming will be there well before 11am.

Still looking forward to Rally but will have to visit without P5 (unless my euromillions ticket comes good tonight!) car is short of mot and I still find myself in a state of fiscal difficulty! Is it a Rover only affair or could my ticket be used for another vehicle??? Regardless i will be looking at everyone elses Rovers to remind me what im missing out on!

Hi all, in Georges absence -its not too late to book. Just include a note that you would like to pick up the ticket on the day. I would suggest asking for an email confirmation from George beforehand to ensure has has received the form for you Dont forget to include your email address!
