Nice, clean looking car. It confused me at first as it has P5B front guards (wings) but side trim and wheel discs of a 3 litre. What is the story here?

Whenever I get a new car (to me at any rate) I always feel that everyone is looking at me and my new car! Of course, most of the time, they aren't except for the P5 and my E-Type. On the left side of the pond, no one knows what a Rover is so everyone is looking at me and the E-Type (a '62 convertible) has always drawn looks!

It feels a very nice drive indeed..... and i didnt expect to enjoy driving it as much as i do.....
he (Rupert blame the girl for naming him) has a few things i like to question if some of you could help me out?
Driving absolutely fine however only sometimes when i go into reverse sometimes he stalls or stutters do i just live with it? Dads comment was is was probably like that from new hahaha.
Also does anyone know where the best place is to buy things for him to "tart" him up a bit give him some new shinys....eventually if i keep the p5 i may give him a respray as the paint is not great!!
Have a good day all!!!

Wadhams for bits + ebay Service for the flat spot - lack of oil in carb dashpot can cause this or duff HT leads/plug cap suppressors (if still fitted). Maybe gearbox bands need adjustment or low oil.
Car looks good though
Bench seat was optional extra on auto saloons but not common by 1964. Seats may be from an earlier

We fitted P5B front wings & valance to our old P5 as part of post-purchase repairs because that's what we had lying around. However we plated over the foglight recesses so they looked original apart from the differently shaped valance.

If it was me I would do basic mechanical maintenance and drive it for a year or two before worrying about cosmetic stuff. In any case I prefer a bit of patina to concours restoration.

Had this discussion with some ne last night and its exactly what I'm going to do .... It runs perfectly stars first time every time just needs small things doing ie tappets..... Changing the moody ht leads its ot and everything around that area.... oh I've also learnt he likes petrol lol

I agree Djm16, drive it, see what's not as good as it should and then fix it one by one, with mechanical aspect first. it may be frustrating, but with time goes on, I prefer to drive a car that is not perfect than loking at a shiny one wich is stuck in the garage with mechanical problem. Of course, if you are John, you can have both!!
