CLOSING DATE
PLEASE NOTE THAT DESPITE WHAT IT SAYS IN THE MAGAZINE WE ARE STILL TAKING BOOKINGS FOR THE RALLY - 70 cars already booked in and climbing daily!
ACCOMMODATION: I have been contacted by a few people advising they are having difficulty booking accommodation in the area due to other events filling up local hotels (you were warned!).
If you call the Market Harborough Travelodge (0203 195 4889 - yes its a London number but it will get your through to the Harborough Travelode - honest! )and tell them you are from the Rover P5 club and mention the arrangement they should agree to allow you to park in the private underground car park. The car park is private, large and for office employees during the week. I cleared it with the Travelodge management that the offices have agreed we can park classics down there on Friday/Saturday night if booked in but they will not offer this unless you ask them. You will still need to book with accommodation on the main booking number 0871 9 84 84 84)
If anyone is having difficulty with accommodation please email me and I will do my best to help.
SATURDAY RUN(s)
I haven't 100% finalised the runs yet and will send out exact details to those who have indicated an interest (email me if you have already booked and would like adding to the list) but we should meet just outside Harborough for the longer run at 10.00, setting off about 10.30 and getting to Sywell museum around 11.00am ish. A photoshot with the cars and a Hawker Hunter is on offer and I suggest light lunch at The Aviator hotel or better still the pilots mess if I can swing it - which is on the same site. Afterwards we will head off to Harrington museum for a fascinating afternoon in the world of the Carpetbaggers (SOE drops behind enemy lines)
A second run will set off from the Oakley Hay put after lunch - circa 1.00pm on a more direct but short (10 miles approx) run to the Harrington museum.
Any questions feel fee to post them up here and I'll check in and answer as often as I can.
ETA: Additional info for booking in at Travelodge re car parking
