I hope to remove my inlet manifold over Christmas (well, I've seen the Great Escape before!). Is it possible to remove the inlet manifolds with the carbs on or do the carbs have to be removed first? Apart from inlet manifold seals / gaskets, and thermostat gasket, what else will I need to refit the manifold (I plan to overhaul and refit the carbs so I have the carb. gaskets). Much appreciated. Adrian

No need to remove the carbs in fact its makes it easier to lift it off.
its best to put a mear of rede Hematite on the faces of the steel gasket but ONLY where they match the water inlets which will be obvious
Its a bit of afiddle refitting but otherwise straight forward

Thanks for that information Phil At least it will give me something to do over Christmas. By the way, will you be at the Autojumble at Donington Race track on January 2nd? Cheers Adrian
