On my MkIII inner wing, on the arch backing onto the passenger footwell there are four nuts on bolts (not captive). They are hidden inside the car by the passenger footrest. Does anyone know their purpose to save me removing the footrest to find out? Thanks!

you can leave the bolts alone. These are there for the LHD model for the accelerator pedal set up

Thanks, Peter, I was guessing it might have been something like that. Just about to embark on some welding around the jacking point.
