I tracked down a former owner of my car; a guy who bought the car and restored it in 1984-85. Gave him a call and visited him. Gave him the keys do he could drive a trip with his wife. I think they were very happy and touched. In 1985 they wanted to go to Austria with their caravan, but when the car was rebuild they became frigthened of taking that trip, if the car broke down. So in '85 they sold it to a guy in Copenhagen some 250 Km from here. We had a pleasant afternoon and I got some pictures and now I know a lot more about the car, and how much they rebuilt. - But one strange thing. When they bought the car in 1984, they collected it in pieces from a shed. And that shed is less than a mile from where we live. It is a small world - sometimes you almost get the creep up the back !!

You're right Frank it is a small world. So the next trip is to the shed and the owner is it?

Yes, but I think he has moved. But I am told it was his sons that took the car apart. So I will search them and close that gap. Btw, I reported problems with the gearbox (on this forum) being hard in the changing between the speeds. I thought that the box had never been touched, but the former owner told me he gave some 1200 GBP for the car in baskets and with much rust to attend in '84. When the car came on the road, he thought that the box was "hard in the changing between the speeds", so he send it to a specialist here in DK in '85, and was charged (hold tigth) some 1400 GBP for rebuilding the box. Do I have to say that when he reinstalled the box again it was exactly the same ! Appartly it still is, so I might take it easy, as the box has covered some 20000 miles since then.
