I've had cans of Bordeaux red mixed by paints 4 u and it's just about spot on.
I do prefer to use red primer though even if grey is the correct one.

I've bought a half litre of cellulose to try but it's been too cold for spraying in a garage!

My car was repainted about 10 years ago in what is supposed to be burnt grey but I suspect its a few shades light as paint mixed from Rover codes is too dark. I took the car to a specialist paint producer in Northampton and they used a small machine (Spectrometer?) to test the colour and reproduced an exact match. The benefit of this is that even if there is some paint fade or it has been repainted it will take it into account to a degree. I bought a touch up and a spray can and I think it was about £25.00 for the two. The same service must be available in most large towns I would have thought. These are the guys I used - Very helpful: www.sayers-ltd.co.uk/about_us/introduction.php

What's your location? I have both a supplier who could colour match it for you or if you was carrying out a respray and a shade or two out didn't matter I've got some left over from a repaint I've just done and should be ok for another repaint by the time you add your hardener and thinners to it.

Morleys Derby have supplied me with any colour wanted for 20 odd years. They have a website and deliver all over the world www.morleysonline.co.uk/First class paints and I have never caught them out yet with one that cannot be supplied AND more importantly matched again later exactly
