I emailed some weeks ago but do not seem to have had a response and whilst we would like to attend I need to know ASAP now please "Looking to attend this year as we have been a number of times before and like the place even though its on the limit of what I can now travel in day.
The last time we attended a P5 rally (Eastern region 2008?) the field was right on the edge near the back entrance behind buildings so no view of anything else. The site is large and even then I found it too far to get everywhere. At past events its been near the front and far better placed.
Where is it to be held this year as if it is in a similar place it rules me out? "

David not sure whether you got my latest email last week but I am still uncertain of the exact rally field location and you are apparently the only one who knows?!

Phil, I sent the original email to Stephen Parker who is the Eastern Region Committee member who is the contact with Duxford and organised the position of the cars. He told me he had replied to your email which I sent onto him. Did you not get an answer from him? If not I will get him to get in contact, David

Yes he did but could not say whether it was the same site behind the buildings that the 2007 Eastern region rally was held - in other words there was no view apart from the back of the what seemed to have been the Land Warfare building My final query was: "It seems like you may not have the same site this time if its around the Royal Anglian Memorial which does allow a decent view? The site last time was fairly close to the separate entrance you mention as you can see on the Google Earth link ie furthest west www.iwm.org.uk/sites/default/files/public-document/IWM_Duxford_Map_2013.pdfAre any other clubs going that day? Last time there was at least 2 and they had prime spots spaced all over that end from left to right"

Phil, Stephen has sent me this reply that should have gone to you. Hi Phil,
I understand your concerns if you look at the google earth picture we should be south of the path opposite the old revetment and between the circle of trees and the land war fare museum. I think its a very good location for such an event as ours and it seems to be popular with other clubs..
Other clubs have been invited but I would hope the marshaling will have the P5's together and then other Rover P3/ P4/P6 etc then the odd balls!!!
Sounds like you had quite a dramatic trip on your last occasion at DX I hope you attend and its a grand day out for you.
With best regards Stephen
We are the only car club there on the day. From memory last time we attended on there Classic Car Day with at least 20 clubs
