This question may have been asked before but was wondering what is people's favourite colour for a P5B coupe? Also do people prefer the two tone on the coupe or keep in body colour?

It has and I agree with Barry but only for Coupes - saloon should be same all over unless for 3 Litres when charcoal over black and other way round for 3 Litre Coupes. Zircon and Silver Birch 2nd for Coupes

Burnt grey, with black roof for me. Phwoooor. ( anyone have a picture of that combo? ) Pleeeeease. Incidentally, the colour I was originally looking for in a P5B was zircon blue / silver birch roof, but after seeing zircon blue on a coupe in full body colour I changed my mind. My coupe has always been full body colour, and my first job on the " to do list " was to paint the roof S/B............ Until I saw it in the half light of dusk for the first time, and in the full light of day. It is staying as it is now, I love it.

This for me is the best looking one I've seen. Not sure of the colour though but it looks the "dogs".

That's zircon blue Steve but for later rovers (sd1) I know because I ordered zircon for a P5B job and they sent me this... Agree it is nice and I do think it's a better zircon

I prefer the single colour body / roof for the Coupe.
Admiralty Blue, Old English White, Burgundy or Ardent Green.
All look very refined and stately in my book.

The dullest, most conservative/mundane colour (formulated by a depressed introvert) has to be Juniper Green.

I think that is my dream colour combination for a Coupe. Full body / roof in Admiral Blue with buckskin interior. Really shows the chrome up nicely too.

Forgot to add the car in question which I need some help with colour has a black interior which will not be getting changed. It's current colour in silver pregnant dog with burnt grey roof but don't think it does much for the car, so asking the question again what would people pick as a colour combo?

White/Burnt Grey or White all over Barry would be my choice with Black interior I wont say black as I don't like coupés in black saloons yes that's my pennies worth

If the car has a black interior it needs to have a light exterior, white/off white and perhaps a burnt grey metallic roof with subtly contrasting coach lines in my view.

My favourite colours for a Coupe are silver birch over admiralty blue and I did consider changing mine from silver birch over burnt grey when I had it sprayed about 15 years ago. I decided against it when I realised just how many were admiralty and how few are burnt grey.
Silver birch over burnt grey is a marmite combination. Lots of people have told me it is their favourite but I know most people prefer Admiralty blue.
The interior colour of my car (Mulberry) wouldn't have lent itself to Admiralty anyway.
I always think that Coupe's with a darker roof colour than body colour look ungainly.
Saloons should always be one colour and look best in dark colours IMHO.

I would suggest 'Old English White' (Rover's creamy ivory colour) for body / roof of a Coupe - especially with Saddletan (or black) interior and Sundym® glass. Attachment Deleted

Silver Birch over Admiralty blue, with Buckskin interior, headrests and Sundym windows is my 'ideal' colour/trim combination on a P5B coupé (probably because I knew someone who had one in that spec. when I was in my impressionable years)
Second is Silver Birch over Zircon Blue, then probably Silver Birch over Arden Green.
Saloons, for me, always seem 'better' in single-tone, and I'd probably put Zircon ahead, just, of Admiralty. Don't ask me why!
For MK 111 P5 coupés, I'd probably put Silver Birch over Juniper Green ahead of Silver Birch over Admiralty, and, for some reason, Bordeaux red for saloons.
Nothing rational about the differences.

Another question, does some of you have colour samples? Or pictures of cars in the proposed colours to look at? Frans

i recently got a 1962 mk1a p5 that is two tone green this is the original colour, i have the old R.F.60 brown log book and first tax disc. this document lists the colour as duo green. it's probably not the most popular colours, but i like it, the car also came with the tool tray under the dash with the two tubes of touch paint that have never been open the colours are rush green and shadow green here is a picture of it to give a idea what the car looks like in two tone colour .

My Coupe has is Bordeaux Red/Silver Birch so I'm a bit biased. That is my favourite combination though with Admiralty Blue/Silver Birch coming in at a close second. Personally, I prefer the P5B Saloons in one colour but like the P5 Saloons in two-tone (split at the waistline). Attachment Deleted

Not got a Coupe but I have a Bordeaux Red saloon best colour I think plus I prefer the saloon Mrs Harvey had one of those, with Mulberry interior. Nice looking car and it drove really well once I fitted HIF6 carbs to it. I convinced her to get rid of it when I had to take the rear wings off and found lots of repair plates pop riveted on behind there, and elsewhere once I started looking. Fixing all that was a far bigger hole than I wanted to get into at the time.

Nouveau courrier<button id="mailtorapideemailClipboardButton"> Copie</button><textarea id="mailtorapidetextToSelect"></textarea> Hi somebody can tell me the name of these 2 colours ? thanksView Attachment It's difficult to say because they're not original P5/P5B colours. The Rover yellow colours from the late 60s/70s were P6 colours; initially April yellow which was probably slightly lighter, then Almond (often with Huntsman [brown] roof/pillars) on the Series 2 but that looked darker and then finally Turmeric, which was much more 'yellow', on the final P6s and early SD1s.

Not having answered this before my favourite combination is, of course, Silver Birch with a Mulberry interior, but if I had been able to order a new one it would have been a coupe in Silver Birch over Zircon Blue with a Buckskin interior - yellow looks nice though.
