HI, I have not been on here for a while and have only just come across this. I don't want wee on anyone,s firework, but are we sure this is a good idea posting where our cars can be found by less scrupulous members of society?

Colin That did go through my mind, but my cars not kept at my house so not a problem. It's a low risk I would think, but probably best for people not to be too exact with their address details.

It is perfectly safe as long as you follow the instructions previously posted "Click on ADDITIONS, then select ADD MARKER - SIMPLE. DO NOT SELECT "ADD MARKER - DETAILED" UNLESS YOU WISH TO PUBLISH PERSONAL INFORMATION" The 'Add Marker - Simple' option requires only the city/town to be shown.

With the DVLA happy to give out drivers details to just about any Tom Dick or car park attendant I doubt it matters much.

With the DVLA happy to give out drivers details to just about any Tom Dick or car park attendant I doubt it matters much. I find that highly objectionable and intrusive. If you are forced to provide the state with your details, that should be protected information. Only in case of a court case should such details be available to anyone else. I am fearing the next generation being in control, they are used to sharing everything on the net, and most likely will have no sense of privacy. That leaves the door open to big business getting your details and starting bombarding you with specific advertising. Even more ominous, insurance companies profiling you both for health, life and all other types of insurance. Only your imagination sets the limits. Welcome to a life in a supermarket. What's next? a tracking/identification device implanted at birth?

I doubt if a car thief is after your car he (or she) will be too worried about telling the DVLA the odd porky.
