I powder coated my own sway bar and it has not cracked or flaked off (polyester not epoxy).

Well here they are, I picked up the new roll bars on friday. The 1" one is substantial, the 1 1/8th" one is a beast! What do you think? The quality is very nice and the manufacturer is a professional motorsport company thats been around for a great many years. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment Deleted

Very impressive Roy. I will let you be the guinea pig then decide which one I want, its always possible I would have the one you don't use if its available.
Well done

Ha ha! Yeah thanks for your support guys I have a slight issue that will delay the road test. Currently the head is still U/S on the P5 due to the helicoil not working in the plug hole. But worse, before that I need to get my Manta GTE back up and running (but mainly stopping)because it must be moved before some building work on the house starts (and they need the space). It will need to be parked on about a 40 degree angle whilst work is going on. Unfortunately the fact its a Manta means the underside, the fuel injection system AND all the brakes dissolved whilst it was in a lockup for 7 years!! I've sourced all new pumps, filters and lines, the fuel tank I have had to patch, just waiting on a full brake pipe set from Automec to arrive along with new drums, shoes, cylinders and handbrake cables. Where did british summertime go! Anyway it must be done within the next few weeks and then I can replace the heads on the P5 with the stage 3 ones I obtained in the summer. I'll order some new polybush mounts for the thicker bars in the meantime and then we can test! If I can put together an order for 10 or more, these should work out to about £300per unit. If anyone needs 3 litre ones made up, I would need an old one for a pattern and I'm hopeful they could count in the run of 10. Attachment Deleted

They are little flying machines John, I have a photo of myself drooling over a racing version back in 1991. To be fair, I don't think a £10,000 would get a P5 handling like a CRX! But these AMAZING roll bars will get you a LONG way towards it... Made by Carlsberg you know ....................probably

If I can put together an order for 10 or more, these should work out to about £300per unit. I would definitely like one for my P5B, please Roy. However, I'd like to wait for the results of your tests of 1" and 1&1/8" bars before confirming which one I want.

Noted thanks Allan.
Equally these can be made thinner if the 1" one is too stiff. I'm looking forward to being able to test them and report back.

I can pick this up again now so I've just ordered the correct antiroll bar bushes and suitable clamps to fit both sizes of the new bars. Once they arrive I'll start doing some tests!

I'd love to say yes but they are both still sitting in my back room at the moment. I have the clamps and the correct diameter polybush mounts, its just a case of doing the standard comparison, taking the photos and then swapping the bars over and repeating. But that is likely to take a few hours or days to complete. I need to find a suitable test area in Sussex too, preferably with curving white lines to follow at various speeds! Any suggestions locals??

Sorry, but I can't help with suggestions for a 'test-track.'
Would the makers of your bars be willing to make me one, in 1" diameter?

Hi Allen, I had 1" and 1+1/8th" ones made. The bigger one is very beefy.
