"Does it do the same with halogen bulbs ?"
H4 halogen bulbs have their shield nominally on the midline, so in the absence of a prism, the dipped beam will project a flat line with light below. You can also tell this by looking at the light projected on the back of the headlamp glass - there is a flat line with an H4 bulb. The prism (on most glasses) is below this line and to the drivers side.
My H4 LEDs also have the rotating ring setting. Had they been made properly in the first place, this would be un-necessary.
Everything is much clearer (geddit) if like me you have a test lamp unit with no front glass.
Mostly the kickup is not a problem except when over-taking. Then the dipped beam is blinding to the car in the near-side lane.

Where did you source your LED lamps from, please?

I got all my bulbs from the same suplier as they seemed to be OK and their prices about right. There does not seem to be any benefit from doing the winkers and the drop in voltage causes problems with the flasher unit. The front side lights and number plate illumination are GLB 989. They are quite bright and perfect at the front but I already had 'soft' LEDs at the front which I put in the number plate. It might be that the bright white are too bright for the number plate. The reversing light bulb is GLB 382, but they do not seem to do a single white bulb so I just got that from another seller. It said that it was an Osram, but there is nothing on the bulb. The side lamp and brake light is a red bulb GLB 380. The rear of the car looks much crisper with LEDs and more visible if you have a non period black and white number plate (oops!)
