It has to be said Steve " It looks very nice as a 2 door coupe".

Not real but nice Steve. Lengthening the doors gets the proportions correct. It would also strengthen the body shell. Lots of work though, if anyone's game to attempt it. Lengthening the doors is the easiest part of the project. It's all the related modifications that take a toll on you though.
PS. I've never seen one that low either Steve. I like it, but the purists would see it as sacrilege (Oh mon dieu...modifying the holy grail!)

A two door coupe was commissioned by Ray & Vicki Kendall some years back. I understand the car (the green one in the photo) may be residing in Ireland.

The blue one looks to be a nice photoshop version but the green one yes , formerly known as AD(a)M from its UK numberplate? Looks absolutely fantastic Thats the job my convertible needs next. Unfortunately Ely services back in 91 simply welded up and braced the rear doors, leaving stumpy front ones. Puts a lot of stress on the sills at the A and B post.. and firewall I guess.

The back however relies on the simple addition on bags of cement so not too costly either, one bag per centimetre according to my calculations . An unusual method? yes, but easily reversible as long as your boot lid seal is in good condition.

Looking at your avatar Roy I think you know quite a bit of Photoshop . LOL I agree the green one does look very nice in the pictures, and it's a real conversion as you suggest.

Even lowering the front suspension to the bump stops doesn't lower it that much...and then there's no functioning suspension! There are ways but it involves a fair bit of engineering. The rear can be done with traditional methods (lowering blocks) or just wait for the rear springs to settle, which they all do over time.

Thanks Vince , you are full of helpful information. The picture in the first post as you have guessed has been photo shopped by someone on another forum which I happened across. I quite like the look being so low, but will keep this area original.

I really like the look too Steve. My Rover coupe is lowerered quite a lot as is. I'd like the front down another 1.5" but it requires some serious modificatons which I'm currently not willing to pursue.

How about removing the subframe mounts , must be 2 inches worth there. our Magnette is great.

Steve there's been lots of discussion re: subframe mounts...and there's quite a lengthy post regarding modifications to these as they do allow limited movement between the subframe and the body structure, which comprises handling. I have an expensive set of remanufactured mounts (many originals are past their use by date and worn, rotted or oil perished) but chose to modify my originals from standard to solids. This produced no adverse situations in handling or ride. Removing them totally is possible but would throw out the alignment of the steering column and box as well as other related components. So it's not an afternoon's activity or a task to be jumped into lightly without understanding the scope of the work. You'd probably gain 1 1/4" at the front. You wouldn't need to remove the rears at the back of the sub frame.

Here is another, looks interesting to me. Steve, the one you have in the picture is a body off conversion to Cadillac. I have many pictures from the conversion which I was going to send into the club for the magazine, but not that one? I'd love to know where you found the picture? The company making the conversion lost the later pictures due to a phone in pocket water incident! Two more 2 door pictures. 90s 3.5 Mr Rigby conversion and my own one started by Ely Services in 91. Been playing with pc software to create a 2 door coupe. I have used club member marktkark's excellent pic of his bordeaux coupe, see what you think.
While I was on a roll I created a few others from drawings off the internet. Not sure who owns the copyright on these to ask their permission.
