Had a great bank holiday today, I moved the duchess out of the garage to turn her around to work on the rear chassis members plus It gave me the chance to clean and tidy up the garage and car. I always feel I work better when the surroundings are tidier. As I was taking a ten minute break with a drink it was amazing the amount of people who were stopping to talk to me and asking about the car, one of which was a great chance meeting. He lived across the road, five doors down. He is a fully qualified Rover mechanic who worked on P5's. To cut a long story short he has agreed to help me out mechanaically on the car, Sat, Sundays, when required. Even a neighbour from around the corner offered his services to help me turn the car around. All in all, a good day. I took some photo's that I will post on the www.roverp5bduchess.co.uk site over the next few days. I hope everybody had a good bank holiday weekend too!. ;)GlennR

2 Jags ? Was John Prescott there then ?
I agree Glen ! I cannot move in my garage at the moment and its absolutely impossible. Its like the begining of Raiders of the lost Ark when Harrison Ford is carefully treading over the booby traps while trying to keep your balance.
Its amazing how much easier it is to do anything if you have space to move. Dont you hate it when you bend over and knock something over ? It also amazes me that when you take any car apart, it seems to occupy three times the space.
Glad you can get help from the neighbours.......mine would only help me to load my cars into a skip.

My neighbours would even ask the council to remove them if I did not keep them hidden away

I have 2 garages, a double and a single but they are both so full of P5s and spares and tools and junk at the moment that I have done all my work outside for the last 3 weekends. Fortunately the weather has been great and you can see better outside. It's not a decent long term excuse though particularly in our climate.
