I am planning to take my P5B to France later this year (Le Mans in June). The car has no seatbelts for the rear seats. Is this legal in France? Or will I need to fit them? Thanks Chris Bryson

I think it's a case of 'must be worn if fitted'.
A search for motoring in Europe guides should give you a definitive answer, or perhaps CYF will see this thread and know the answer.

Hello Chrisbryson In term of law, if the car was not fitted with rear belts when new, you don't have to fit them. In France the rear belts must be fitted from October 1978. So, no problem with your P5B. In term of security, if you'll travel with people at the rear (especially kids) it's better to have them fitted...
If you need something to plan your journey to France, let me know via PM

Many thanks for the information, very helpful. I may, as you suggest, get them fitted anyway. Chris B.
