I remember reading that out of the box the Weber 500 was jetted too rich for the 3.5l. IIRC it was more suited to an engine capacity of about 5 litres.
I would like to fit my Weber when the head goes back on my engine(because its been in my attic for about 10 years!). I have a jet kit for it and wondered which jet would be more suitable for the standard 3.5 high compression engine?
Anyone have any experience of this? thanks Roy

Hi Roy. There is a small piece on this subject on R.P.I,s website which maybe of use to you. In fact he supplied me with the 1404 for a 3.9 block. Bob

Hi Bob, thanks for that. I know there are some people on here who do have the Weber carb already fitted to a standard engine. If I get no answers I'll take an educated guess based on the standard jet and the RPI 3.9 recommendation. EDIT: I found the exact details on their website that they use for 3.5 and 3.9+ so thanks for the tip Bob!Is your 3.9 up and running yet? (Once mine is back up and running I can get on with the roll bar test

Hi Roy, A few years ago I had a Dax Cobra that ran an SD1 V8 with an eddy 500. On the cobra forum there is a very helpful chap called Sidecarbod that seemed to make getting these carbs right his life's work! Link to his blog is here:- how-to-build-a-pilgrim-sumo.wikidot.com/fueling-systemI met the guy once. Really seemed to know what he was about. You should find what you need to know there. Cheers, Mark

Regretfully no Roy, I broke my wrist over Xmas so all at a standstill. Having a discussion with the Doctor on Monday as it all seems a little slow mending. It's all a little annoying as I have maybe a days work to finish it.
Looking forward to the result on the roll bar.

Hopefully you will get yourself healed up soon so you can make the most of the lighter days. I'm in a similar position, except its the kids that are the ones preventing me from getting the engine back together. Need to be ready for a run on Drive it Day!
