We have now some members joining us from Somerset. I have written to some that I had on a list .... BUT there must be more! I have not had many replies to my letter.. Please get in touch so I can add you to the Newsletter mailing list (due to post costs, the newsletter is now only sent by email)
This May Day meet up is changing to Lunch Time at the Horton Inn. Send me a message/email if you hope to come along so I can arrange spaces. Unfortunately my car will not be there as it is still in the paint shop having the (hopefully) final touches, so if you have the same problem or still looking for a car, please come and join us on Monday and make yourself known to any Rover Driver or look out for me (I always have a P5 Tie on - available at the Rover P5 Shop!).
For those who have not been before The Horton Inn is easily found at the main cross roads of the Horton Road from ThreeLegged Cross, Horton and Bournemouth and the B3078 Cranborne Road from Wimborne. This is a great place to meet with a varied and very reasonable menu as a bonus.
The address is Cranborne Rd. Wimborne. BH21 5AD: Phone: 01258 840252. We probably won’t have any bunting up this time but I will bring it anyway

Come on Somerset someone lives there!
We all met up at The Horton Inn May Day Bank Holiday and a very lively turnout on it was.
The upshot from the meeting is that we are trying some new venues for our monthly meet-ups as from Monday 30th May Lunchtime (noon), and follow up with regular monthly meets on the First Wednesday of each month again at The Horton Inn at 7pm for our usual regular meet up, until say October when we return to "Town" to either The Old Thatch or The Willet Arms Wimborne for the winter.
The reason for this is to encourage members to bring their cars, (with older type headlights) and of course many (of our older members) have trouble coping with dark lanes in the winter!
We were hoping to include Somerset members who are now under our wing, so to speak, but following from my letters written and posted to each member in Somerset that we were given by Paul, I have not had one single reply except one, who said he has sold his P5 and has some "bits-for-sale"!
So thoughts on extending our boundaries and meet-up’s into Somerset at this stage are on the back burner until I have some response from the region. I am appealing to any member in Somerset - drop me a message to confirm you are there (in Somerset that is). I will not be sending out Newsletters by post any more unless no email addresses are available.

Remember, we have a pub meet at the Horton Inn, this next Bank Holiday Monday 30th. May at lunch time instead of the usual Monday evening at the Old Thatch.
Everyone welcome to join us.

Chuck, looking at the forum member map on here, it does look a little sparse in the Somerset area!

Is that word? ? Shame we have had some good time here. Here's hoping for later on. Having said that. Please take note there will be NO pub Meet bank holiday Monday as nearly everyone is committed to a load of shows that weekend leaving very few if any not around. Keep watch though we are planning something for the end of the month or early October.
