Hi all I've just bought a P5B in burgundy with cream roof, some of the carpet (doors etc) is a sort of faded burgundy but the main areas and transmission tunnel are a cream colour. does anyone know what colour they would have been originally please? Thanks Stephen

Thanks Stephen And a second question, does anyone know where I can get a copy of the owners' manual - some of the lights switches in particular seem to have a mind of their own and I cant even work out which ones are supposed to be which on the dashboard (eg the side lights both come on with the head lights, but there doesn't seem to be a main/dip switch and if you move the lever on the steering column down you end up with one side light but not the other. Parking light maybe....!)

In it you will find, as a club member, you can buy the Owners manual, Maintenance manual, Workshop manual and Parts manual.

The Burgundy paint should be Bordeaux Red which had as standard one of the only 2 standard carpet colours Rover offered on the P5B of a pale-mid grey ie Silver grey. This turns brown/fawn with age an/or Nicotine to look very similar to the other colour of Mortlake Brown a dirty looking rat like colour which moths enjoy. The Silver Grey IMHO when new compliments the Mulberry hide seat colour choice very well but not the Saddle Tan or Buckskin No carpet on doors - the map pockets should be Furtex a wool Moquette like the door draft seals in a colour to match the upholstery Mk3 P5's had a more colourful range which some present owners and even some from new preferred and ordered as a special

Interesting thanks. Mine has been retrimmed at some point to a very high standard in a sort of magnolia colour on the transmission tunnel and floors. Doubt original. I think I will go with something similar when I finally get to that stage, burgundy would be very dark.
Can you get the stuff for the map pocket etc from the same places that do the furflex? There are quite a lot of bits that seem to need covering in that
Second question, can you get get full rubber door seal sets? Mine seem to have turned into rabbit food
Finally the front wings on mine are miles from the bonnet, think the replacement wrongs don't fit well, any top tips? Thanks

Its Furtex moquette and it can obtained from trimmers in various colours and shades. Replacement wings do not just bolt on and have to be fettled quite a bit especially reject production line ones consigned to spares
