Cant find a reference in Owners Handbook or threads but I see the green turn indicator light flashing on my P5B but are they silent? As the unit is on the bulkhead in the engine bay is it expected to be audible in the cabin?

There is a much better replacement for the flasher unit than the original. A Lucas SFB 162 which is available on ebay. It is electronic and the flash is consistant. It has 3 terminals 31 goes to earth, 49a goes to the switch - light green / brown wire 49 goes to power - green wire

Unless the 3 litre has had the polarity reversed the electronic one will not work correctly if at all .
P5B's will need the warning lights wiring altering if it has the early 3 pin type as fitted to the 3 Litre. the 2 pin later type is noisier if mounted correctly and wiring mods also required to make best use of an electronic version

As far as I can remember when I fitted the electronic flasher all I had to do was make up an earth wire as the original one is earthed through the mounting.
The electronic unit will flash at exactly the same speed whatever the revs, unlike the Rover original
