How do the rebuilding companies do it? Any idea?

Many internet sites advocate boiling in lemon juice. That works up to a point, the acid dissolves some of the metal, inevitably the tougher areas suffer, and pits open up. Less frequently advocated is bead blasting with walnut shell. I tried that too. On untreated metal, it barely touches it even after extended blasting. After the boiling in lemon juice blasting works quite a lot less painfully slowly. Overall, though not very satisfactory.

That process looks nice. Pretty quick too on the demo carb pair. However, for the few that I do, I could not possibly justify the money and space. Pity!
