after trying unsuccessfully to obtain another steering wheel I have looked in to repair but the cost is high >500 aus dollars. I doubt I can repair it myself as the cracks are major and the two other wheels I have obtained are equally damaged. do the wheels get so bad in the UK, or is it the Australian sunshine? Whilst Motolita make wheels and bosses for a reasonable price, none of them seem big enough, the P5 wheel being 420mm diam about 17inches, Has anyone had a wooden wheel made or does somewone use a smaller say 14 or 15 inch wheel in a P5?

Adrian, Alan James and I have all fited the motolite wheels see here roverp5.proboards31.com/index.cgi?board=Roversfromaroundtheworld&action=display&thread=1106748570&page=1Prior to this I had fixed my wheel by filling the cracks with "west system" epoxy resin with glue and filler additives and some carbon powder to make it go black then sanded back with wet n dry working up to 600 grit then polishing. it was pretty good. but if I was to re use it again I would spray with 2 pack black gloss after filling. This is all most retoriers do anyway fill with epoxy and then coat with modern 2 pack paints But I like the motolite wheel but landed in NZ it was 700 nz dollars and I had to by my wife new K2 one love skis stop her going on about it.
