Hi folks, Hoping someone can help... How do you remove the fuel filler so I can paint around the recess? I've managed to loosen it by pulling off the rubber hose within the boot (and broke off a section of the inner pipe in the process ), but It appears that I cannot remove it unless I break the plastic collar that holds the fuel cap locking pin. Also, does anyone know how to remove the small chrome wiper rest ramp thingo on the drivers side? Thanks in adv. Cheers, Taz.

The fuel cap locking pin housing is just screwed on. The plastic bit is hexagonal - find a spanner to fit and unscrew it. You will then be able to remove the filler easily - without breaking anything.

The small chrome wiper "rest ramp thingo" on the drivers side just pulls out of two small plastic seats. Lever out carefully to avoid damage. Steve M

Make sure you repair the inner pipe and position it correctly otherwise it will make it an awfully slow tank filler and I mean slow!

Many thanks for your help folks.
I did try to unscrew the hex shaped plastic housing with a ring spanner, but the spanner burred over. I will try again. Maybe a hex shaped socket will do the trick.
Phil - As the inner pipe broke at the filler, can I simply pull out some excess from the tank end and re-attach? Or will pulling an inch or two out of the tank cause problems at the tank end?

You can try - it may stretch enough
