About 3.5 hours away from Swindon sadly. Maybe the annual club meet will be nearer for me and mine.

This is the most important Rover event of the year for Southern England Am I correct in saying that the national is in Yorkshire - now, that is a long way

Now lagain, If I'm right your picture on this forum is you with your P5b on holiday. Yorkshire is about half way between your home and that picture location, ....which you visit every year. ...so you are being amusing when you say "...Yorkshire - now, that is a long way" See you soon! Ray

Sadly no, the national moves around to different regions. There are other shows where there will probably be Rovers present. You could look on the Rover Sports Register website, they cater for all models.

Ray That is correct, Ray, but Yorkshire and back in the day would be quite a trek, so the national would need to be on the 3rd Sunday of September

Last year I tagged along to the Popham airfield car show with a friend of mine in his car and loads of Rover P5's & P5B's tipped up and I had a great time chatting to their owners too so I might see if they are attending again this year and hop on with them on their stand if they will let me migrate with them.
If anyone on here was one of those owners last year at the Popham airfield show please let me know.
Cheers in advance

I attended the Popham Show for a few years. Did you see a Rover stand there Brendan? I think this year is bank holiday Monday 6th May 2019 - Auto-Aero Jumble, Fly-in & Classic Vehicle Show Rally. I don't think the website giving further information is not yet live.

Hi Eric,
I don't think there was a Rover stand as such but there was a large group of P5B's tip up there last year and they also erected a large gazebo to sit under so maybe it was a regional group of the club and they perhaps make this their annual meet up in force???
Were you there last year Eric??? I may have had a long chat with you??? 2 guys I spent along time with were the owner of a lovely Burgundy saloon model who had owned it for many years and a guy with a lovely looking Arden Green saloon model which wore a old style private plate on it. There were many others there too I looked over during the day.
I tagged along with my friend Alan in his Subaru STi/WRX which allowed me to wonder all day albeit most of it was with the P5B gang which re-lit my fire to start looking again for one which I now have.

Haven't been for some years. There is a burgundy prior to P4 which I have seen at events organised by the Surrey Classic Car Club or the Surrey section of the RSR Club who lurk around NW Hants/Surrey border.

Hi Ray, what time does the South East Rally start/finish? I live in Hailsham, but I'm at a wedding in Essex the night before.

Martin,
We start at 10am and present trophies & raffle prizes at about 3pm. Many then start off for home but locals usually stay a bit longer. The grounds will be open until 6pm.
I hope you manage to get along.
cheers Ray

This weekend folks! Sunday looks to be rain free and about 16 or 17 degrees C so a comfortable day to bring your car out into the South Downs and some historical surroundings
