How many meters of Furflex do you need to do the front of a coupe and how would you need for the rear. Wadams have quoted 15 Pounds for enough to do front and rear so I assume it would be safe to say 3 meters? Any ideas?

I know i am asking a lot John but how many meters of carpet did you use and who supplied it. I ihave been recommended BAS which is a british company with reps in aus www.bas-international.com They appear to be able to supply carpet, furtex, furflex and moquette to OE standard

I used 7 meters in total @ 42" wide as I made over mats it was a long pile 80/20 mix supplied by woolies and I used the 1/2" needle felt a reccomended by Barry (priceyp5) for the backing it is thicker in total than the origonal but looks and fit's ok cost twice as much at least with all the binding (35 meters) as those ready made ones www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-307-long-pile-carpet.aspx

I wouldn't rely on that price as his site is showing £30+vat & delivery for enough to do a Coupe'. £44 for a Saloon. I've used this firm in the past:- www.rubbertrim.co.uk/You could give them a try too.

The "Grey" colour carpets on late Mk3's and B's was definitley a grey albeit very pale as such it very quickly became discoloured within 2-3 years. If compared with the the much darker Mortlake Brown which also darkens unless in broght sunlight its more obvious Toledo red was ony only used on Mk3's and was a richer red than than Mulberry but different again to earlier reds from P4-P5 days. Furflex and Furtex reds came in many varoius shades as they still do but not to the extent as nowadays
