I have found a guy to re-glaze P5s to a good level albeit it expensive. He is south of Guildford, Surrey. Msg me for further info.

Can you share any details? Can't really imagine what a "re-glaze" would do. I have a few nasty scratches on my windscreen. I tried to polish them out, but that didn't work all too good. I've seen a few products online lately that are allegedly able to fill up (deep!) scratches, but haven't tried any of those yet.

Very interesting. The windscreen on mine has no specific damages. Just sand blasted from a long life. Tried to google "windscreen polish" and there are a bunch of hits.
Does anybody have any experience with these polishing kits for windscreens?

I bought a "scratch removal set" last year. It consisted of a few paper-like sanding strips and two polishing liquids (coarse and fine). I worked hours on the windshield and, yes, it sort of lessened the depth of the scratches I worked on (I worked on a few that are on the very top at the near side, i. e. a not all too important spot), but it also happened to make them look a bit "smeared". I suppose I should mention that they seemed to have more of an effect on my fingers?
Staying away from these kits would be my personal advice.
Edit: I found the set I originally bought, see here.

I was thinking of this kit from Eastwood:
At least a known vendor. Sonax also has something.

By re-glaze I meant to remove the glass and re-fit it with new sealant ie rubber surround, clips, screws or other sundries. Not to be confused with polishing out scratches in the glass.

Go ahead, I'm curious about the outcome!

Installing a windscreen in a Rover P5 is a major pain. Trust me - I have done it. By re-glaze I meant to remove the glass and re-fit it with new sealant ie rubber surround, clips, screws or other sundries. Not to be confused with polishing out scratches in the glass.

Eggsactly Jens - that why I said that I found a windscreen fitter prepared to take on the job! This subject was covered a year ago when I was in the same dilemma. I am very satisfied with the work done - not cheap but not something many would be prepared to take on.

Hi,
Just for your info, there are two used windscreens for sale on eBay at the moment, if you type in 'Rover P5 Spares' they should come up...
Alternatively, as has already been suggested, David Green will no doubt have one available I'm sure!
Good Luck in your search...
Minty.

I saw a P5B front windscreen on ebay the other day for £35 along with loads of other bits the seller was breaking off a totally rotton car.
