Hello,
i´m just on to replace the panel light bulbs, but since i have opened the instument box no panel ight is working. I had checked all the red/white wirings and nothing seems to be disconnected. I tried to find a fuse for those red/ white wirings but can´t find anything. One of those wirings leaving the instument box to the main wiring harness but at the other end - that means at fuse box in engine bay there´s also no red/white wiring ? Is there a hidden fuse somewhere else behind the dashboard.

Have you tried adjusting the "dimmer" switch. ...One end is "lights-Off"? Cheers Ray

No hidden fuse but one in the Fusebox - Red/Purple to the switch. Does the Cigar lighter lamp work as this bypasses the switch?

Probably an earthing problem. It’s possible that your speedo drive was the only earthing happening, particularly if the wiring has been messed with.

Cheers Ray Yes, i had checked the dimmer, as well as te earth contacts. real curios thing because the power comes right from the braided wire at light main switch- so there should be also a wire connection from there to the rheostat on other side :-) but it wasnt - anyhow it had worked before - i put a wire in yesterday and now everything's working fine as it should. Seems to be a " prince oft darkness" in an hyperactivity combined with WLAN ;-) Thanks for your help Frank

I discovered that my dashboard lights for the turn signal indicator had stopped working after working on the instrument pod. When I investigated I found there are little copper pieces alongside the bulbs that function to ground the bulbs (since bulb mounts are plastic). One had fallen out, so I soldered a new ground wire in place and they worked again.

Connecting the panel switch directly means the panel lights are no longer protected by their fuse

Finally everythings working fine - all lights are working - Km/h speedo mounted and working a llittle noisy but this is from the old speedo cable - i´m going to change that next. One of the next things will be to overhaul the clock - sometime it is working, sometimes not. I think this can be only a small thing, futhermore the interior lights will be an issue - a grounding problem.
