hi all I have a pair of 4" pioneer surface mounted speakers on my rear parcel shelf unfortunately i am now in the process of installing rear seat belts and have discovered that the installer cut the necessary holes in the rear shelf that just fit between the belt threaded bracing plate and the shelf bracket. Belt anchor bolt and plate go in fine BUT speaker doesnt fit in anymore as the top plastic bezel and grill foul on the belt anchor. So options are;
1) fit a pair of smaller 3.5" speakers ( not much choice )
2) fit a pair of pod mounted speakers one at each end of shelf ( from what i can see they are cheap and nasty sounding )
3) fit one centre speaker, pod mounted or one under shelf replacing original one (better quality sound but large )
4) forget music and sing along whilst driving.
Would welcome any experiences/ recommendations of others please i am retrimming the parcel shelf anyway so whichever way i go will look good.

I've just fitted a pair of 4" pod speakers under the rear seats of my P5B coupe. They rest on the floor but are secured to metal work under the seats. They don't protrude beyond the seat cushions and they work well. They are actually weatherproof speakers meant for boats. I got them from Amazon, this is a link to them if you want to investigate them.

Have you considered leaving the system and using a modern portable speaker that connects to your phone? Either bluetooth or cable. I use a jbl charge 3. Amazing sound around the house or in the car. Rechargeable , goid bass and lasts for hours.
