I am refurbishing the aluminium radiator grill. Could someone advise me, please, is the finish simply bare aluminium or is it anodised.

Annodised, although my centre post was badly dented so needed careful persuading back into shape after which a file and wet sanding to repair. I was going to get it re annodised but thought I would try some aluminium paint. I can't tell the difference and club members here can't either so if your bars are pitted this might be worth considering. It can always be stripped so no risk.

I masked the badge to spray it in gold effect and when i removed the lo-tac masking tape it pulled off the face of the post! I had it and a spare stripped and professionally painted and the spare is available if anyone would like to have it.

Thanks for comments chaps. I have already smoothed and polished mine, both centre spine and the rest of the grill. Do not think I like the paint idea so will investigate an anodised satin finish. Regarding the badge, mine is careworn. They are gold plated. Mine is away at a local precious metal plater who does small items, mostly jewellery and medals.
