The South East Rover Rally 2021 is cancelled
If you were a regular attended of the South East Rover Rally, you will have been aware that due to the Covid 19 corona virus restrictions; The South East Rover Rally 2020 was cancelled.
I have been monitoring the on-going situation and the UK governments ‘Roadmap out of lockdown’.
Within this guidance it states:-
Social contact
By Step 4 which will take place no earlier than 21 June; the government hopes to be in a position to remove all legal limits on social contact.
With these restrictions and with the news that a new wave is crossing Europe I am now informing you that there will not be a 2021 South East Rover Rally. As you will be aware the date would have been in mid-June, the restrictions would not allow a gathering as was being planned.
We do have every intention of holding the South East Rover Rally again in 2022.
We are aware that some had paid and moved their payment forward to 2021. Those will now be forwarded to 2022, unless you let me know that you would like a refund of the entry you paid. (If seeking a refund, please supply me with your banking details so I can make a direct payment electronically from the SERR account.)
Whilst this is a sad announcement, I am sure you realise that we must comply with these regulations to bring the virus under control to save lives and also assist as best we can to improve the UK economy.
I hope you have been able to gain some form of enjoyment from your car(s) during lockdown and I hope to see some very well polished cars later in the year or in 2022.
On a brighter note; I will draw your attention to other Rover events currently in the planning stages:-
1. The Spring Rover Rally at Burghley House (near Stamford) Run by the P4 Drivers Guild with the new date of 23rd May.(?)
2. Rover P5 National Rally Run by the Rover P5 Club on September 12th at The Helicopter Museum, Weston-super-Mare
If you are interested in either, please check with the organisers as the date approaches to ensure it will still proceed on the given date.
Kindest Regards
