Good morning
Are there any Coupe owners in Essex?
I am looking to buy a P5B, but as yet have not even sat in a Coupe, so wonder what it is like for headroom. I am 6'3" and have back problems, so a good driving position is vital for me.
I am hoping there is an owner not too far away who would allow me to sit in their car to try it.
Many thanks

I am not in Essex so cannot assist directly. However, I am 6' 6" and also a long-term sufferer of a back injury so I have some understanding of your potential problem! I find that I need to have the seat height adjuster wound right down and my head then just brushes the head lining if I sit up really straight. I should perhaps add that last year I reupholstered the seats including new foam and this an important point as the seat foam in 3 litre mkIII and P5B seats can collapse very badly giving a false impression of the available headroom. I usually have the seat set right back and have more than ample legroom. For me, my P5B is one of the roomiest and comfortable cars I have driven, the seats being essentially the same in the P5 mkIII. As I expect you are aware, the seats in earlier P5's were quite different and space availability may not be the same.
Hope this helps!

Hello Jeff, as others know, I'm in Colchester, but sadly unless you're a contortionist, there's no chance of getting between the garage wall and the car ! which sadly is still up on blocks. Hopefully it will see the light of day this year. Hope that someone else can help on trial, and Good luck with your search, Regards, David
