This is meant as a warning to all folks intending to send anything from somewhere to an address within the EU.
The EU's customs regulations have been changed as of July 1st, 2021.
Whatever else may have changed, the most important aspect is that, from that day on, tax/duty will now have to be paid for all shipments, regardless of size and value. That is, before that day, there was a (value-) limit up to which shipments were allowed to pass customs without having to pay anything.
Why am I telling you? Because I've been waiting for a part that was sent from the UK to Germany exactly a month ago.
Both me and the sender didn't know about the changes, but the parcel reached Germany on - you guessed it - July 1st.
It seems that the new regulations caught both customs and senders completely off guard so they seem to not have the personnel required to handle the additional work (authorities can be a bit slow and we now that, don't we).
I'm really curious as to when they'll finally process my parcel (where I'll happily pay ~110 EUR for nothing resp. a replacement delivery). Needless to say that I can't drive the Rover without.
So, if you intend to send or already sent something over to the EU, do expect it to be delivered a little later, including a thick layer of dust.
</rant>
Cheers, Olaf

In UK, if you order anything on line to a UK address, the Carrier or Courier is demanding a charge before they deliver the purchase because, they say, of Brexit. Its an open door for scammers also because they are pretending to have parcels and need you details before delivery.
