I came across this webpage which includes a list of cars showing those which wont run on E10. www.shell.co.uk/motorist/e10-petrol.htmlUnfortunately on many vehicles it says refer to manufacturers - not much help the classic! Might be of interest to those with older "moderns".

All three genuine, the first link you scroll down till it gets to the part about Chinese hose's claiming to be ethanol safe [for classic cars] which is a false fake claim reading it will explain better than I can, hope that helps.

I have read the bumph but ant decide if the Lucas additive will protect the car's fuel system. Is it an additive to fuel in the same way as we used Castrol products to run engines on lead-free, or is it to overwinter a stationery car or neither of these?

I have two Shell stations near me both about 15 mins away and both selling Shell V-Power E5 price has been creeping up past few weeks.

I think fuel prices are increasing worldwide - supply and demand. My local Shell sells E5 at present but the BP one said they don't sell Premium 97 octane nor ever have. The site I referred to shows others BP sites that do. Sainsbury states E10 on the pump but I walked round the 12 to find that 3 still offered E5. Seems its a mish-mash at least in the short term. Time for someone to start copying vulnerable parts with suitable material.

Sainsburys, Tesco and I think Morrisons offer the super unleaded flavours. The only one that does not is Asda.
