Hi all. I am starting a new project this winter. It is a P5b and I am searching some car history. My car is VIN 84800004A. Is there a manufacture log where VIN can be looked ? Similar to a list I have for Sunbeam Alpines, telling when the car left the assembly line. Or does anyone know about the VIN 84800004A. I am really looking forward to start this fatastic project Torben J

3.5 litre Coupe Automatic 1967 to 1973 Export Left Hand Drive series began 8480000. So deduce from that that yours is the fourth in the series and one of the 80 such produced in 1967 - does that tie up?

If you contact the 'British Motor Industry Heritage Trust at Banbury Road, Gaydon, Warwickshire, UK, CV35 0BJ with the chassis (VIN) number then, for a modest fee, they will send you a certificate, which will show the actual build date and destination on delivery.

Hi Sam.
Thanks a lot, that was a big help. I will contact British Motor Industry Heritage to have its birthday confirmed.
I have just pulled the engine out today and is underway to split it down to it´s bare body and start a bigger sheetmetal and welding job during the winter
