Looking for helpful advice and tips as I'm trying to plan a trip to lreland to do part of the Atlantic Coast run. Is there anyone who specialises in these sorts of holidays for people with classic cars?

Trouble with going with a group is that you have to go at the speed of the slowest car, so you might be following a Morris Minor ! Before anyone leaps to the defence of Morris Minors - no need as I have one and love it, but 50mph is about it for a continuous speed. I take my Rover to Scotland, so my advice would be, just go for it. There is little you can do to prepare for a trip, apart from the obvious, oil, water, brake fluid, tyres, etc. Perhaps take ATF if it leaks a bit and a bottle of radweld and if you have spares in the garage that fit in the boot take them as well, but if the car is generally reliable it should be OK.

We toured SE and W Cork since 1996 in one or other of our classic Rovers. This was till Covid interfered and we had to cancel bookings for 2020, 2021 and recently 2022. We make our own way and own pace
Its a great place to get to - since 2010 we have taken the Fast Ferry from Holyhead to Dublin and drove down the coast to W Cork staying at 3 or 4 hotels we pre-booked by phone or website in advance.
We have never been disappointed and hope to try again soon

Many thanks for your help, although I wasn't thinking of going as part of a group. I should have made that point clearer, I was thinking more of places for accommodation whilst over in Ireland ie good hotels and B&Bs. I would of course take all the bits and pieces needed just incase of a breakdown.
On the same subject, Scotland is another place that I would like to explore with the Rover, and although I know Scotland well enough we have always used the caravan and don't know of good places to stay. I always like recommendations from other people. Can you help me with any ideas plesae

Thank you Phil, I think we would go from Stranrear over to Belfast or Larne. We have been over to Ireland in the past so I know a bit about it. I was thinking of the sort of places we could stay and that's why I was asking really. Are there any recommendations you could offer and is there any of the holiday companies that do packages with regards to hotels and good B&Bs over there?

I need a accommodation with a good leisure centre ie gym and pool so this rules out B&B and most 3 star hotels. The hotels are superior to English ones of similar rating and more modern. It is not a "cheap" holiday taking into food/drink/fuel etc
We used Cresta or Stena Line at the start with "Travel vouchers" but they messed up bookings so we now do it ourselves and just book an Irish Ferries return voyage
