Has anyone considered, or had their wheels on their P5B power coated instead of having them re chromed which as we all know is very expensive. This is just something I'm thinking over at the moment.

Hi David Powder coat is not indestructible but neither is chrome you treat them both the same with a good polish :-) I have a picture prior to the Satin Black stage!

Thank you I know that neither of them are indestructible and I have a firm up here in West Yorkshire that can do it for me. My question which I guess you have answered was is there a real downside to powder coating as apposed to re chroming. From what you are saying I guess the answer is no. Thank you for your help

Hi David get a sample of their finish there are good and bad products! the segments in Satin Black need to be done in Fine Line masking paper very time-consuming!
The process is the same as body work to some degree, the problem is if the chrome is pitted or pealing that will still be under the primer as I don't think they will remove the chrome, so to do the job right the rims have to be gone right over with filler to give a smooth surface for the primer to get the finish.
Make sure they do the complete wheel inside and the rear
If the powder coat takes a knock it may crack so when they fit your tyres they will have to be careful.
