Hi I am tidying up the wiring in the engine bay. Was wanting to upgrade the flasher relay to handle LED bulbs but confused now as to where the original one is I have found a relay ? a silver cylindrical canister at the side of the Fuse box attached to the body three connectors on it marked E AL WL . these do not seem to correspond to my flasher relay with X P L terminals so methinks the silver one isnt the flasher !! if not where is it ?
can some one please advise on this thanks

that thing you have found is the 3AW, it brings on the warning light for the alternator (thats what WL stands for.)

The flasher unit is inside the car, up under the dash.

In my 1966 P5 3-litre Coupe the flasher unit is inside the instrument binnacle and accessible by removing the front of it. I don't know about the P5B.

On the P5B early models with 3 pin can is on the back of the speedo etc. On later P5Bs with the 2 pin Clicker can it is hanging loose behind the panel. MK1s and 2s with the 3 pin can is bolted to the dash rail above the handbrake

B = Battery (ignition in this case and should be a green cable) I = Indicator switch Green/White cable If colours are DIFFERENT then may very well be the Instrument voltage stabliser - follow cables (LGHT GREEN) from I terminal (= Instruments. Trace flasher unit by sound! Are you on the FB group?

I am struggling as the only wiring diagram i have is from the workshop manual and it is proving like Liz Truss's policies -- difficult to see what is what and where its all going Is there anywhere to get an A3 size diagram .. in colour maybe
