Fantastic appraisal...do whatever brings joy to your soul and stops the annoying creaking from the rear end. 😎👍

The creak from my rear end came from a Spax shock adsorber and then a seal went and the oil squirted out.

They will certainly benefit from cleaning and then oiling and then greasing. To do this the back axle must be jacked up on the centre of the diff (use a spacer to protect the drain plug) and then axle stands placed under the ends or on the spring plates. Under no circumstances allow the axle hang otherwise the rubber silent block Contrasonic Y bushes will be stressed and may shear Remove the wheels and spread each leave with a flattish cold chisel to inject degreaser. oil and then grease (or buy the special G Clamp type spring oiler To protect the spring wrap with DENSO tape (used to protect underground pipes) If you want to see pics etc see my public FB album www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2757648487679689&type=3The springs will last longer and be less noisy especially if they are missing the nylon spacer washers in some replacement aftermarket springs It is even better to remove the springs and dismantle them. Corrosion can be removed and they can be greased fully before reassembly and refitting
