Hello,
I am having my BW35 rebuilt and I'm told the thrust washer with the two grooves in missing.
Are replacements available?
It appears the box has been rebuilt before.
Is it possible during the previous rebuild that this thrush washer was replaced with another?
Cheers
Fraser

Well, I really hope that your BW35 transmission hasn't got "thrush" 😉, that would be unusual, to say the least.
If you've been driving the car around and it was functioning reasonably well than that is quite odd as there'd be quite a lot of endplay in the transmission if a major thrust washer was absent.
Truly, your transmission repairer shouldn't be stressing you out, but simply doing his job and repairing it. There is no shortage of parts available for these transmissions as they were virtually universally used around the world in most major manufacturer's cars.
If he has you looking for parts then he's not doing his job.
There are experienced transmission specialists who post to this board, have the requisite expertise and who can I'm sure rebuild your BW35 without the hassle of stressing you out.
