Does anyone know if the cast sump pan fitted to later Triumph stags will fit the P5B?

It was a universal transmission, used worldwide by many auto manufacturers. So yes you can fit it. The two issues that I'm aware of is: 1. The size of the front servo, depending upon which servo was selected, (there are at least 3 sizes that I am aware of) and
2. Certain valve bodies with differing selector options may not clear as the transfer tubes may foul with the pan base.
Not all trans pans are precisely the same depth. Some are "slightly" deeper to accommodate the largest of the front servos. At least this is the case in OZ with big Ford 6s using BW35/40 transmissions.
All pans have the same bolt pattern and use the same pan gasket.
If you fit the Triumph front servo, valve body and oil transfer tubes the pan will fit straight on. It may also fit straight up to the P5B BW35 case and clear everything.

From memory my Stag had the later type 65 box with a hole on the side of the sump pan for the filler tube. Although a similar box it's delivery was very different. Have a look on ebay at the gearbox pictures.

Yes. It will fit. You will need to plug the filler tube connection though. Don't change anything, don't swap anything

Ford Cortinas had a cast ally sump without a threaded dipstick hole in it, just a plain ally sump. I've had them and sold them in the past.
