Hi I need to have my gearbox rebuilt or get a an exchange unit. I have been offered a gearbox with the following numbers on a plate or cast into the casing.
These two are stamped on a plate Part No: 594236R Serial: B11582
This is part of the casing 0465066906L VF1
There is another number on the casing but other than 0465065... I can't read the rest, might be 800. I have checked the numbers as best I can, but only found out that it is probably a four speed refurbished by Rover, (R at the end of the number and the plate says "Factory Rebuilt Unit).
Question is this a BW35 ? Many Thanks Jeff

The type 35 box is a 3 speed box. It is better to get your own box rebuilt as anything that you buy will be a risk.

Hi Jeff.
What you have there going by the numbers given is a BW65. Sadly they were never fitted to the P5B.
I can help with your transmission either existing or exchange. Will send a PM with my details.

You won't get better advice than Andy gives or one of his rebuilt boxes
