One of the mods I'm planning to the lighting is to install a sequential flashing LED for the front side repeater flashers. They are slightly bigger than the standard flashers so the front wing stainless trim rectangular holes will need to be enlarged. The LEDs can be bought for about £5 each from China.
However, on the rear I plan to have no flashers on the rear wings. Having spoken with my MOT man, he said that if there were no side flashers or lenses fitted at all, that would not be an MOT fail. However, I do not just want to leave the stainless trim with the hole for the rear side repeater flasher. I would like to have the hole welded up and polished so that the moulding looks original but without the hole for the side flasher.
Has anyone had such "repairs" done to the stainless trim or, indeed, is it feasible to have such a repair done and for no sign of the previous hole to be left?
Or, stupid question, but is anyone making the stainless trims so I could order a pair of rear trims without the holes for the repeated flashers? Though I'm sure with these "extras" they would cost more!
