Some time ago I removed the interior of my Coupe to clean and soundproof the floorplans and to fit a new carpet set from JRW
Predictably other projects have delayed progress and I have now discovered I stored the removed seat bolts/fittings so safely I can no longer find them
The question I have is can anyone provide the bolt specifications for the four fitting points of each front seat? Perhaps in the parts manual?
Also I believe one bolt has a spacer style tube to level the seat?

The seats in my mark 3 coupe are bolted to the floor with 5/16" UNF bolts. Note: The slot in the head of the bolt is something I added to ease removal when needed.

Thanks Vince - that's a big help. It seems though that one of the four bolted points is lower in the floorpan and requires a tube like spacer for the bolt to run through between floorpan and seat base. Does that ring any bells? I think it's one of the front two boltholes - probably the one closest to the transmission tunnel.
Does your MKIII have the same and if so how tall is it? I may just have to cut something to size if I cannot locate the original...

Hi Owen, there are no spacers between the seat mounts and the floor in the front of my Mk3 coupe. The rear of the seats bolt to brackets either side and are elevated above the floor in my MK3 coupe. I believe the only obvious difference between the front seats of a P5B coupe and my Mk3 is that the backrests of the seats are wider. The narrower backrests in the P5B simply provided more room for the rear seat passengers. Hope this info assists.

Spacers (half inch tall) go to the front so the runners clear the front carpet when adjusting seat slide. The front bolt closest to the tunnel (both passenger and driver side) have a captive nut under floorpan, i dont know their thread size but they are 1.3/4 inch long. The rear nuts and bolts have a square nut and are 1 inch long.

Thanks Vince and Velvet - I knew there was something there providing extra clearance at the front. I'm away this week plus need to chase down the nuts and bolts etc. but when I eventually get to this I will update the thread.
Thanks again for helping me out of a bind.
