Is there anyone here who has a Rover P5 in the United States? I live in New York. I've lived here since 1985 and have yet to spot a P5. I've seen one or two P6's but thats it.

I live in California and own a '65 MkIIc Saloon that my grandfather bought new in '65. I ended up with the car after he passed in 1989. After sitting in my garage for at least 20 years, I got it back on the road about 5 years ago.

Awesome story, David ! Do share some photos - on the facebook pages, for example (easier to upload pix there).

I have owned 2 P5 Rovers in the USA since 2002 (one was only a parts car and now gone). I completely rebuilt my 1966 P5 Coupe (seized engine, terminal rot, and destroyed interior) over several years. Thanks to the Rover P5 Club I finally overcame several obstacles unique to Rover P5s (ESPECIALLY with the SU H8 Economizer carburetor) as well as rear spring mounts and substitution of leaky PS box with Volvo 164 unit and have a nicely running car. I live in Grand Rapids, MI Attachments:

A massive amount of work in the restoration of your car Ken. Well done.😎 Interestingly, I see that there was also an aircon evaporator fitted to the interior within the front parcel shelf, did you also manage to restore the full aircon system or did you remove it?

Thanks Vince, Unfortunately the air conditioner system was too far gone for me to attempt restoration and it is gone. The condenser for the system was mounted horizontally at the rear of the car underneath it and totally covered with road tar and debris.

A modern condenser will fit in front of the radiator on a 3-litre, and is a life-saver in Australia.

Thanks for all the replies. My car is still being restored and is in Walden Saffron. Completion is the end of May when I will drive to Milan for a tour of Tuscany and Umbria.
I'll get it back to New York in November of this year after a 'farewell' UK tour of Scotland.

That will be Saffron Walden. Worked there 1986-1990. The Old English Gentleman (OEG) was always good for a lunchtime snifter...
