The car is 46 years old Mk1. I was considering replacing the wiring. There has been no problem with the car but wiring looking a little tired.
I wonder whether anyone has attempted this task and just how difficult it would be. Windcreens are a nightmare but where does re-wiring rank as a job for someone without any electrical knowledge?
Do you think the wiring for the 3 litres is the same whatever the year?
Your comments would be most welcome. Tony

Note posting is wrong section The wiring looms are available for all Mk's which are all slightly different right up to 1972. from the harness specialists. Its a job for methodical and logical people and all you need is a good wiring diagram to suit the model. Its well worth fitting extra fusing and its best to use the PVC covered stuff with the old fashioned fabric outer cover The difficult bit is pulling it through the bulkhead holes at each side with the dash board still in and some wiring runs up the rear quarters into the roof lining and also under the drivers door step plates. Its much easier than doing the screens and the old fabric covered wiring is now a fire hazard so at least fit a battery cutout switch whn car is left unattended
