Hi all, there is a 1964 P5 two tone saloon on ebay at the moment for £1000 starting. Can anyone tell me what the proper colour names are for this combination? I'd be really grateful thanks. P.S. if the auction ends before you see it I can email you a picture, just let me know. cheers chaps

They are both very nice cars - the 1962 is a late Mk1a if original colours its Storm grey over Medium grey.
The 1964 M11c with a rare front bench but a gamble with the windscreen scuttle seems to be Steel Blue over Light Navy

Thanks Phil, are you confident? I saw this combination on the P5 promotional video that rover did and really liked it then but was never sure of the colours. It looked like silver birch over admiralty blue to me but I knew they weren't around then..

I meant Medium over Storm as Medium is the lighter colour. I cannot be 100% confdent without seeing the cars close up in real life as you cannot be sure of what the colours are and whether they are the original paint - these are the colours and combinations that were around then. Computers can really distort colour rendition as can digital photos Light navy is very similar and very suitable P5 colour, but a little lighter than Admiralty blue - Medium grey is darker than Silver Birch. Medium & Slate Grey are similar, particularly Slate, to Silver Brich at first glance but not side by side If Slate grey the bottom colour would then be Medium grey. It does not look like that to me? Has anyone got a Medium Grey car photo to compare? Steel blue is a weird bluey grey colour, nothing like Admiralty Blue (in my mind anyway) and a quite popular P5 colour - I had a Coupe in this. Someone in the club has a car with the Slate/Medium grey paint - but does he look at these pages? The pencil touch-ups in tool tray may give the right colour? Any P5 P5B could be ordered with none standard P5 colour combinations and also with any other colour, usually P6 ones
