Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be any sort of gasket or piping, etc around the front grill and the chrome ventilation air intake grill just below the front windscreen? I'm ready to fit these and am concerned about chipping paint. Did something go between the grill pieces and the metal body to protect the paintwork?

I beleive that a product called dum dum was used around the air intake, well it was under mine when I took it off.

'Dum Dum' is a non-setting black compound often used by bodyshops. It can be used as a sealer / gasket for use between door handles, lights, exterior mirrors, fuel filler necks, door locks etc to the bodywork. When applied, once the fitting has been fastened down, the excess Dum Dum can be wiped off and the end result can look quite smart and 'original'. Dum Dum can be obtained from many bodyshop suppliers, also try www.frost.co.uk/. Cheers Adrian

???If you are referring to the front radiator grill there is supposed to be a special plastic edging like wots (but not the same) as the stuff that goes on the overiders - similar stuff can be obtained from Vehicle Wiring Products ;D

Thanks to all. I'll have a go at fitting them carefully without anything. Ken
