hello rover people , i come in peace !! . ( i'm sat here waving a white flag if that helps . ) firstly i must admit i'm not really a rover fan ( gulp ) , i'm a land rover fan , although i did once own a 1953 rover 75 , strange gearbox , anyway i could do with some help if you don't mind . i've just bought a landrover with a duff engine and it's a six cylinder , i was going to swap it and fit a diesel but i've just been told on the land rover forum that the engines are ok if looked after . the problem is i can't seam to find one and i wondered if it is the same ,or similar to the one that was in my rover 75 all those years ago . and would anyone know where there is one for sale in lancashire . i hope you don't mind me asking , and can i put this flag down now cos me arm's killing me . rick....

The P5 3 Litre IOE six has its ancestors in the 4 cylinder 1600 cc P3 engine also used in the S1 LR. The actual engine engine used in LR was a detuned 2.6 IOE six 7 main bearing last used in the Rover 95 so you need the P4 forum!. some land Rover owners have fitted the 3 litre six with Westlake head using the P4 Rover 110 manifold. The 75 was a IOE six with 5 main bearings
Many parts are interchangeable but others look the same but are different
I too have a S11 land rover but it has the 2.25l 4 which is conventional OHV.
