THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT! Item number 260124268544 seems to be a Mintex dealer with pads and shoes for the P5B (no idea if prices are good bad or indifferent and I have no connection with this person)
I only wonder if the Mintex part number has caused some confusion before, regarding other vehicles parts interchangeability with our beloved P5's and P5B's? It uses the letters MGB!

Before anyone rushes out and buys these please makesure that they are they actuall items for the p5.
As some of you may recall I did a good bit of searching for the pads and shoes at a good price.
I found that many of the trade catalogues WRONGLY show the items for P6. The usual give away is the rear pads in the description.
I couldn't get the link to check the photos. My rear shoes were cheaper than them from the local motor factors. 11" LWB land rover 1960's onwards.
If anyone gets the photo of these items can you post them for clarification.

Is anyone near Walsall so they can check these out? - the rear shoes are no problem anyway as these are redaily available from a variety of sources - its the disk pads that are hard to get. These are different material on P5B's or P5/P4's although they are all interchangeable
I have emailed them to ask if they can send me a picture after all they do have a lot of disclaimers about checking you have got the right part so its likley they have had problems with descriptions/catalogues being incorrect as they so often are

To confirm this, they are NOT the right pads & they can't supply them. They're exactly the right shape but 1 1/2 times too small. I ordered 3 sets & have returned them after they've researched & confirmed they can't supply the right size pads. Am waiting for my refund at present. I'm surprised they're advertising for the P5's as they know by now they can't supply for them.

Thanks - I will see what they to my enquiry!
There is plenty of NOS out there including the real asbestos types which are the best for the disks

I ordered a set of these brake pads a couple of days ago, prior to the post above. I'll also report back the outcome on this forum. Richard Southampton

Well Folks, my brake pads have not turned up yet and I imagine will not as my VISA account has not been debited to date. Phoning the company gets nowhere - it just continually rings; although today I get a continual engaged tone. How did the "theroveringmember" get on with a refund? Richard Southampton

I'm still waiting & when I do get through on the phone there always seems to be some excuse, not in the office, pads are there or pads aren't there. Just now it was, can't use the credit card machine. It's 2 months since I ordered them. Draw your own conclusions if you're considering using them.

With all the well known hassle over P5 pads, it's better to trade with the people who advertise in Take Five at least you can rely on them to send the correct part, at a fair price.
The correct Mintex part numbers were put on this site a while ago and it's just a case of using the 'Search' facility until the answer comes up.
With this information you can check the numbers are correct and dismiss the rest.

I got a couple of pairs of Mintex pads at the Enfield Pageant for £50 too, which makes it even more annoying. I'll get the money back, even if I have to go through the small claims court.

Well. They're now saying the pads never arrived after I sent them a month ago though I was told they had arrived. Nothing I can say as, stupidly, I sent them 1st class so have no tracker number & can only claim from the P.O to a max of £32. I ordered 3 sets so total cost inclusive of return is a shade under £75. Maybe they didn't arrive, though I can't help but wonder. Moral: Use some kind of trackable service when returning stuff.......to anyone.

Got to pick up an engine mounting from Barry Kent along with a few other bits, but mostly working at the moment to top up the depleted bank account which occurs when work on the cars takes priority over the night job....................thats always then . Just hope the mounting sorts it.

Have you set up an ebay dispute TRM? These characters should be thrown off ebay to protect others.

I phoned them direct & didn't go through ebay. Just saw it advertised on there. As I said though, the pads MAYBE didn't get there. I should have used trackable post then there would be no doubt & I could claim the full amount from them or the P.O. I should get half back from the P.O as the service can be woeful & they really have no way of knowing whether they've delivered or not unless the item is tracked.
